So they left on their first call with one thing in mind, "I'm on my way, Dream!" leaving the others sad but proud. The first day without them was energetic but we felt incomplete. As if a piece of puzzle was missing. Memories were reminisced and laughter errupted when a funny moment was brought up but it wasn't the same without those missing puzzle pieces.
Now and then, someone would be reminded of those who left The Friendship Class but he or she would not feel sad but proud and happy as his or her friends had succeeded and is on the way to achieve more greatness. They will always be in our heart. Our bonds will last forever, God willing.
After the first call comes the second call. I was accepted and so did a friend of mine. We were so happy because it showed that we're worthy enough for boarding school. However, we were also sad because it meant leaving the others. Yes, people told me that our friends will support us no matter where we are but I just couldn't.
She couldn't too. The first time I saw her cry was when she broke the news to us. She wanted to continue her journey to greatness but it's painful to leave her friends behind. She loves us so much. So do we. We encouraged her and assure her that we will be fine and we will support her even when we are far from each other. She smiled 'selamba-ly'.
"What about you? Are you going?" I smiled sheepishly and replied, "No, I won't be in this country long."
Well, I only told that to a few real close friends of mine. I just gave the "Boarding school sucks" excuse to the others when really, that had been my main goal since the beginning. I'm pretty sure half of the class knows where I'd be in a few months but that doesn't matter. What matters the most is living the moment with my friends and loving them while love lasts.
Dear friend of mine,
I hope you will succeed in your life. You are going to a great place so use that opportunity to reach the "menara gading". I know you can make it. I will always remember you and pray for you. I want you to know that you are my one-in-a-million friend that I wish not to lose and that I will always support you.
Heh...
Siapa sangka perpisahan sungguh menyedihkan?
But remember this and remember it well;
I am not saying goodbye, I am telling you that we will meet again.
Race ya to the TOP. (^_^)
Love,
Hadiyati.
